7. november debuterer han som teaterskuespiller i forestillingen «Sladder» på Rogaland Teater. Abel har også laget musikken til forestillingen og er daglig på jobb på teateret.
Abel spiller danselærer, og da sier det seg selv at det blir en del dansetrening før premieren.
«Sladder» er basert på «Konerne ved vandposten» av Knut Hamsun. Morten Abel har med seg blant andre Sally Nilsson, Pia Tjelta og Cato Skimten Storengen på scenen.
